So if you’ve watched this video and this one, you would have some idea of how our time in Brazil was spent. Since being in the US, we’ve had some time to reflect on our two-and-a-bit month stay in Floripa and Rio.
Last year, when I turned 24 I wrote down some thoughts/things I learned during that year. I wanted to do the same with the past year (even though I turned 25 six months ago already haha).
Lately, I have taken a strong likening to photography. I have never really cared for it before, though. Before Eb and I left Australia, we weren’t planning on even bringing a camera. I thought about taking one of those disposable cameras and I remember I just wanted for me to immerse myself fully into travelling and remembering these experiences by memory.

For those that don’t know, Eb and I want to cycle across the Middle East sometime this year. This is a great blog showing what it is truly like in Iran. Reading this blog has made us feel so excited to go there.
25 November – 9 December, 2015 – We couldn’t wait to see the sea again and were very curious about what to expect as neither our two travel guides nor our extensive internet research would deliver any results. Would it be purely industrial with one petrochemical site after the other? Would it be desolate with little settlements? Would it be dangerous as we were told?
After a few more twisting roads and ups and downs we reached the coast. The first village was pretty with a little beach and a lot of fishermen. We could stock up on food but unfortunately had to continue along the main highway as that was the only coastal road. It suddenly was hot again with temperatures rising up to 30 degrees. 6:20am, the alarm goes off. It’s still pitch black outside but I wake up filled with excitement even though I don’t know how the day is going to play out.
Being 23 brought many changes in my life. I moved out with Kellen, had a good job with lots of perks, was thinking about an overseas trip and there were also changes in my relationships.
The past 2 days have been quite chilled for us. Apart from going to the weekend markets and seeing a movie today (American Sniper), all we’ve really done is do what we do best and that’s eat!
