So last night we went to The Banyan Tree hotel. At the top of Banyan Tree they have a roof top bar and restaurant that a friend of mine suggested we check out. We read some reviews and heard that its pretty upper class type and they can turn you away if you don’t look the part, so we were really hoping that we’d get in!
We caught a cab there which took forever because it was peak hour traffic but when we finally got there, we knew straight away that this place was fancy. The place was immaculate and very formal. We had our door opened by valet and were greeted by the staff and ushered through the foyer to the lift. We jumped in and hit 59, the top level. Once we got to the top we walked up another set of stairs to the outside area and BAM! We had a 360 degree view of Bangkok. Then we were asked if we’d like to dine in the restaurant or go to the moon bar, and because we’re living on the cheap we said moon bar (knowing that we were going to get street food after). So we had a drink and met this awesome Austrian couple and exchanged contact details in case we pass through Austria! Success! The photos don’t do it justice, but I really recommend this place for the view and a drink, unless you’ve got the cash dollars, the restaurant would be an awesome option too.
